| Sailor_Ryoko's Full Review: Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century |
A show that anyone, at any age can understand, Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century (or SH22) blends futuristic equitment, with Sir Arthur Doyals spin on things. Holmes brings a bit of Old London to the future, thereby, giving everyone around him a gigantic headace in the process.
With the traditional Sherlock, minus the drugs and pipe, people have a familiar figure that they love and adore solving cases against his archenemy as fast as they come. Moriarty also adds more villian to the plot, and gives our poor detective something to worry about.
The best thing about this show is the "newer" charecters. Such as, the computerized Watson. Still a dear friend to Holmes, even if he is nothing but bits of scrap metal. This is just a small example of new technology with old heart.
Also, one cannot forget the "irregulars" Holmes' street band who help him, or hinder him, and he treats them with respect. Deidre, Wiggens, and Tennyson are wonderful, futuristic adorers, who give Holmes the fanclub he wants, while making him feel right at home.
One cannot forget the "romantic interest" that is possible in Holmes' new boss, Beth Lestrade. She is the opposition to Holmes that keeps his mind sharp, and might just be the cause of his first heart attack, depending on the episode.
A delightful series of colorful charecters, detailed landscape, and delightful, believable, mysteries make this a series to watch. As always, see if you can solve the crime before Holmes does!!!
